Now converted into a museum, this antique house was where Andres Bonifacio, leader of the Philippine Revolution, and his brother Procopio were tried for execution in 1897. Built in 1889, the house is made of wood and adobe, patterned after Filipino-Spanish architecture. The first floor displays tarpaulins that tell the story of Andres Bonifacio, the Katipunan, and the Philippine-Spanish Revolution. The second floor has several rooms displaying a diorama of the trial court, framed flags used by the Katipunan, and Katipunan-related paintings by amateurs. Two other rooms house a library and secret letters sent and received by Andres Bonifacio. The house was turned into a museum in 1999 by the National Historical Institute.

The plan for a new government was established since the emergence of the revolution in August 23, 1896. Its aim was to unite the Katipuneros under a single leadership. The Magdalo faction nominated Emilio Aguinaldo while Magdiwang faction retained Bonifacio, who was the “Supremo” of the Katipunan. On March 22, 1897, the revolutionary government was established at the Tejeros Convention. Emilio Aguinaldo was the president of the new government while Bonifacio was declared as the Minister of Interior. However, Daniel Tirona of Magdalo, questioned the Bonifacio’s qualifications for the said position. Upon his authority as the presiding officer, he declared all the proceedings null and void.

Maragondon Church:

Before 1611 Maragondon was established as a separate town from Silang by the Jesuit Angelo Armano. Before this year the Franciscans were already actively evangelizing the area.[1] In 1630 a second church with more elaborate furnishings was completed. During this year hacienda in Looc, straddling the boundaries of Batangas and Cavite, bequeathed to the Jesuits’ Colegio de Manila, was added to Maragondon’s jurisdiction. In 1633 a new and bigger church was built to replace the older and smaller one, the church stone for some time between 1646 and 1649. The government ordered its demolition for fear that the Dutch, who were at war with Spain, would use it and other churches near Manila for fortification. The orders were apparently implemented because on May 16, 1650 a license was given to the Jesuits to build a house and church of wood in Maragondon to replace the one that had been demolished
